Container handling
Precise provision and processing for fast order processing
Rapid material flow is perfected thanks to automatic container handling which increases productivity levels considerably. This is why the automatic container handling systems from SSI SCHAEFER execute individual steps in container handling at the speed of the warehouse flow. In this process, the maximum possible throughput peak rates are taken into account. Separating, emptying, sealing and feeding to the dispatch areas is handled with extreme precision.
- Product overview
- Container stacking
- Container destacking units
- Container emptying machine
- Container lidding machine
- Container lidding and address insertion
- Document Insertion Machine (DIM)
Function and application
The stacker is used for the space-saving storage of unused containers and to move those containers back into the plant in stacks when they are required again.
Function and application
Using container emptying equipment, waste is removed from the containers, and during this time they are transported via conveyor technology.
Function and application
The lidding and address insertion combines address application and lidding of totes.
This system first prints an address label that is then clamped by a lid in such a way that the address can be read from the outside, while the rest of the document is on the inside of the tote.
The sealed totes ensure that the products are protected and allow the totes to be stacked, so as to save space during transport.
Advantages
- Economic compared to manual execution
- Simple conveying system design
- Low running costs due to use of standard DIN A4 paper
- Large address field; high print quality
- Simplified for employees and quality increase
- Throughput aligned with that of the overall system
Function and application
The automatic document insertion inserts documents in format DIN A4 into empty totes.
The totes are identified in front of the machine. Then the matching documents are printed and sorted into a buffer (8 bays). The documents are inserted when the tote reaches the station.
Design, position and number of positions can be customized.
Our systems can be integrated into all standard conveyor systems in a highly flexible way thanks to their modular, expandable design.
