Schaefer Strengthens Relationship with Blue Bell BMW

A long standing relationship between the Blue Bell BMW Group and SSI Schaefer has once again been strengthened with the successful completion of an automotive storage installation within a new Mini site in Crewe, Cheshire.

As an established customer, Blue Bell values the fact that SSI Schaefer has what they consider to be the best automotive storage solutions on the market today and as a result is the preferred supplier to all Blue Bell sites across the country.

SSI Schaefer was asked to design, supply and install a new storage system. Working from architect’s drawings and liaising closely with the parts manager, Clive Baker, Autoparts Manager at Schaefer, designed a layout that provided both the most efficient use of space and the most effective usage of products.

Products included R4000 shelving, 400/500 and 600mm deep. The versatility of Schaefer R4000 modular shelving is particularly suited for the storing of small and medium sized items. It can easily be configured to create countless variations and the strong high-grade steel construction with securely located base and top shelves and full-height uprights offer simple assembly and ease of handling.

Nine bays of shelving at 400mm deep used Schaefer plastic drawer units fitted for small parts storage and the other bays were open shelving. Each run had mesh end panels and all the bays had mesh backs, which allow light through but forms a barrier so that parts cannot pass. All materials were delivered and the installation was completed within the time span set out. SSI Schaefer is now helping Blue Bell in other areas of their business.

Ian Mitchell, Parts Manager, Blue Bell Crewe, said:

“We are delighted with the recent installation from SSI Schaefer. The timeliness of the delivery and smoothness of the project was extremely pleasing and all went according to plan. SSI Schaefer products are ideal for our parts storage needs and we will continue to utilise their services for any future storage requirements.”
