Salomon Automation

Salomon Automation Becomes a Member of SSI Schaefer

SSI Schaefer’s acquisition of Salomon Automation highlights the group’s leading position in the field of warehouse logistics. Salomon will be an independent member company within the Schaefer Group, with unchanged management.

The two companies announced that SSI Schaefer will acquire the entire Salomon Automation group of companies – subject to approval by authorities. Both companies are successful participants in the market for automated logistics systems.

As part of the Schaefer group of companies, SSI Schaefer UK work closely with SSI Schaefer Noell in Giebelstadt (Germany) and SSI Schaefer Peem in Graz (Austria), who specialise in complex logistics systems and picking technologies, and all look forward to welcoming another proven innovative partner.

Two production facilities will support the extended group, one in Graz, Austria and the other in Hranice, Czech Republic, where production focuses on the manufacture of automation components. Production capabilities in Hranice are currently being expanded to 60,000m2.

With its worldwide distribution and service organisation and an extensive portfolio of product offerings and comprehensive solutions, SSI Schaefer continues to be a future oriented and reliable partner to its customers. The group has a virtually unlimited value chain allowing it to respond quickly and competently to the ever-changing requirements of the market.

With its WAMAS logistics software and facilities in Austria, Switzerland, Germany and Spain, Salomon Automation is a provider of complete systems. Franz Salomon, Managing Director, Salomon Automation, said: “This is an important step for the future growth of Salomon Automation. The assured access to the system components of the SSI Schaefer Group and the integration into the worldwide distribution network are key advantages for Salomon.”

Rudolf Keller, Chief Executive of International Operations, SSI Schaefer, said: “We are relying on the software and logistics know-how of Salomon Automation and expect many synergies within our group of companies. This partnership will also strengthen our Graz location. Salomon will be positioned as an independent systems integrator and software provider.”
