SSI SCHAEFER Sponsor Knorr Bremse Football Team

Knorr Bremse Rail Systems (UK) Ltd, the world’s leading manufacturer of brake systems for rail and commercial vehicles, were delighted when SSI Schaefer agreed to sponsor their football kit for a recent tournament held in Florence, Italy.

The relationship between both companies is based on both a professional and personal level and the Knorr Bremse Group currently has sites throughout the world that feature many products from the SSI Schaefer range.

Schaefer recently won and completed the contract to fit-out a purpose built multi-million pound site in Wiltshire for Knorr Bremse Rail Systems (KBRS) (UK) Ltd. Led by Aaron Thornton, Project Manager for SSI Schaefer, the installation included Regal 3000 shelving, R7000 tilt shelving, PR600 pallet racking, mesh partitioning and £30k worth of blue plastic containers, complementing the corporate image of The Knorr Bremse Group.

Aaron has since been the main contact between KBRS and SSI Schaefer and has built up a personal relationship with the logistics team at KBRS sharing a number of common interests, including football. In a conversation a few months ago, KBRS asked SSI Schaefer to sponsor some of their kit and the rest is history……

The tournament was held in Florence, Italy and 15 teams entered – three from Germany, two from Hungary, two from Spain, two from the UK, two from Austria, three from Italy and one from France. KBRS finished fifth and only managed to lose one game!

Spokesperson from KBRS commented:

“We wore SSI Schaefer branded shirts at our factory for lunch in the bistro, then in Heathrow, through Florence airport and ad-hoc throughout the tournament and we were of course the best dressed there! Once again, thank you for the support from SSI Schaefer and we look forward to working with you again in the future.”
