The fully automated mini-load racking for small parts operates on the "goods to picker" principle.

Entire storage units full of small parts are taken out of the racking mechanically by a computer controlled, unmanned, Aisle Stacker. The units are then carried to the consignment place or to the feed of a conveyor system.

While the S/R machine is running, the picker can order pick from the goods supplied avoiding longer collection times and unprofitable search of items.

Mini-load systems are designed for parts retrieval using a pallet trolley, for devices that lift, pull, or grab unit loads.

When designing a rack structure, the system planner can either choose the "single location system" with multiple adjustments for the stored units in racking depth, or the "multi-location system" (also with multiple adjustments in depth).
