High delivery readiness and a short reaction time are the biggest challenges for the logistics at the Stuttgart based Lapp group, one of the leading manufacturers and subcontractors of highly flexible cable, industrial plug connections and communications technology.

During the course of the complete logistics planning, the prime contractor, SSI Schäfer, first of all implemented the optimized small-parts warehouse in the existing logistics building in Stuttgart.

Central elements are four SCS carousels with an automated warehouse control and operator guidance as well as LTB-bins with integrated RFID-chips.

As a result, the implemented storage concept offers maximum storage capacity and high availability at closest range. Through an SAP-connection via a standardized gateway the automated simultaneous feedback about the current goods in stock and in passage was achieved:
